BOREAS designs, finances and operates next-generation grid infrastructure powered by a patented, proven supercapacitor energy-storage technology — fully funded, fully recyclable, and fully operational from day one.
BOREAS deploys supercapacitor-based grid infrastructure across four distinct Greek markets — each with its own customer, commercial model and economics, sharing a single technology core.
National ultra-fast EV charging corridor
500 kWh of supercapacitor storage paired with four to six Ultra Fast DC chargers, sited at fuel stations, large car parks and retail-park hosts along the Athens–Thessaloniki–Patras–Ioannina–Alexandroupoli corridor. BOREAS owns each asset for its operating life and shares 7.5% of EBITDA with the host site.
Premium marina shore power & EV charging
10 MWh of storage and six Ultra Fast DC chargers at premium Greek marinas, delivering cold-ironing shore power to docked yachts under the Mediterranean SECA and AFIR mandates. The commercial model is chosen per marina: a 20-year Build-Operate-Transfer where the storage passes to the marina at term, or Build & Operate where BOREAS retains the asset long-term — in both cases the marina earns a permanent share of charging and arbitrage profit.
Utility-scale island storage, sold to PPC
Utility-scale supercapacitor storage for Greek non-interconnected islands, which today rely on expensive, polluting diesel and HFO generation. Delivered across three tiers — from 15 MWh small-island systems to 350 MWh installations at Crete, Rhodes and Kos — sold to PPC with a 20-year service contract.
Transmission-connected merchant storage
A 100 MWh standalone, HV-transmission-connected merchant battery storage system on a ready-to-build licence with a Final Grid Connection Offer. Revenue comes from day-ahead arbitrage, intraday trading, FCR / aFRR / mFRR ancillary services and, where available, capacity payments.
BOREAS is built on a patented, advanced energy-storage technology with proven, field-demonstrated reliability. Using supercapacitor cells that deliver every kilowatt-hour stored, cycle after cycle, with no thermal-runaway risk, it changes the standards for what a Battery Energy Storage System can be — in safety, lifetime and performance.
BOREAS earns and arbitrages against the Greek wholesale market. The Day-Ahead Market clearing price and traded volume below are illustrative recent figures, sourced from EnExGroup / HEnEx.

Supercapacitor cells contain no heavy-metal cathodes, no flammable electrolytes and no rare-earth chemistry — so every BOREAS asset is designed to be recovered, reclaimed and returned to the supply chain at end of life.
Carbon electrodes and aluminium housings are fully separable and recoverable, with no toxic waste stream to manage at decommissioning.
Long-life cells with no degradation are recovered intact at project end and redeployed into lower-duty applications before final material recycling.
Lifecycle and material-recovery documentation is prepared to align with EU Battery Regulation and waste-stream obligations across all four product lines.
BOREAS carries the capital, technical and operational risk, then matches the ownership structure to the customer — retaining, transferring, or selling the asset as the market requires.
BOREAS funds, builds and owns the asset for its operating life, capturing long-term revenue. Used for ChargeFlash and the 100 MWh Utility BESS, and offered selectively for MarinaGrid.
BOREAS builds and operates for 20 years, then transfers the storage asset to the host. Offered selectively for MarinaGrid, where marinas want the infrastructure to become permanently theirs.
BOREAS engineers and sells the system to the customer, backed by a long-term service contract. Used for IslandGrid, where PPC ownership unlocks public decarbonisation grant funding.
BOREAS projects are developed in accordance with the applicable Greek national and European Union legal frameworks.
